08.26 | Details on new character names; confirming the air date for the season five opener

More information on new characters for season five has leaked out.

Brady Corbet's character - previously mentioned here - has been renamed from Craig Huxley to Derek, and his mother - played by Connie Britton has been given the name Diane.

And as I predicted back in May, the season five premiere WILL be broadcast with a two hour episode on Sunday January 8th. Set your VCRs - or PVRs - for 8PM. There's two more hours the next day on Monday January 9th at 8PM, before moving the next week to the regular Monday time slot on January 16th at 9PM.

Season five will be set 18 months after season four.

What i haven't found mentioned yet is that Astin has already been in 24 - and died!! He played Agent Philips in series 2 - but died in the CTU plane crash! I'll have to re-watch the episode to make sure he dies - if not, then i guess he will play the same charecter - Agent philips!

I THOUGHT--I KNEW I had seen Astin in 24 before!! When I first read he was in Season Five I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. I'm glad he's back, whether he's risen from the dead or just was conveniently injured in Season Two.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. And I also think that weekends is not the best time for the series.
