08.20 | Sutherland's CIA confrontation

A CIA operative confronted 24 star Kiefer Sutherland during a skiing holiday, because he makes real life spies look bad.

"There was a very funny moment, I was skiing, and a guy who actually worked for the CIA was sharing the chair-lift with me. He looked over and he said, 'I ought to hit you.' And I said, 'Why?' He said, 'Don't tell anybody this, but I work for the CIA and I'm an operative, and my mum is a huge fan of your show, and we all are too,' and I said, 'Well trust me, we know it's a fantasy show and it's not...'

"He said, 'Yeah. Anyway, I was in Europe for like four months and my mother was getting upset because I wasn't coming home and she said, 'You should be more like Jack Bauer and get it done in a hurry.'"

Jack Bauer in 'better than real life spies' shocker.

Possibly Jack Bauer works quicker than real life spies because he only has 24 hours in which to solve his problems, but you never know, eh?

08.19 | Will Justin Timberlake sing at Elisha Cuthbert's wedding?

Not exactly '24' related, but will Justin Timberlake sing at Elisha Cuthbert's wedding?

Also, read this TV Guide interview with Elisha about the filming of 'The Girl Next Door'. Coincidentally, it's out on DVD in the US. Hmmm. The cool thing is that she reveals that her next project after 'House Of Wax' will be a 'dark and very disturbing' indie film with Thora Birch. Sounds good, and it seems like she'll be too busy to be Kim Bauer any more. Shame.

Whatever. Anyhow, Elisha had better make that wedding soon because she's got mad stalkers out there. Scary.

08.17 | Big '24' season four episode one spoilers...

ALERT! ALERT! If you don't want to know what might possibly happen in the first four episodes of '24' season four, DO NOT click this link. If anyone wants to share their thoughts please leave a comment.

The only possible thing I can repeat here is that the previous guess of the series starting at 5PM is wrong: apparently episode one will begin at 7AM...

08.17 | '24's Jack Bauer 'to die'

"I think one day Jack's luck might run out."

"I know I'm going to read a script one day with my death scene and go 'Oh shit!', just like everyone else."

Kiefer Sutherland has been talking about killing off Jack Bauer in the upcoming season, just like he did last year.

08.16 | Dennis Haysbert's documentary about Bikini Atoll

'24' star Dennis Haysbert, AKA President Dave Palmer, has completed filming an as-yet-unnamed National Geographic documentry about Bikini Atoll. He's the first movie star ever to visit and to dive Bikini Atoll.

Here's a picture of Dennis in a wetsuit:

The film will be broadcast on the National Geographic Channel in December.

08.07 | More '24' season four cast info...

Ain't It Cool News has more info on '24' season four:

The threat this season seems to revolve around an attempt to cripple the United States’ economic power. 4.1 begins at 5PM. The season premiere, slated to air in January, seems to launch with some kind of a bang. Word is the scripts circulating to casting agents are missing their first few pages. So if Bauer cuts off a part of somebody or nakedness-prone lesbian assassin Mandy turns up, it could be in those opening minutes.

Kim Raver will take the part of Audrey Raines in season four of '24'. Raines is a new character rumoured to be Jack's love interest. You may have previously seen Kim play the character Kimberly Zambrano on the show 'Third Watch'.

Nestor Serrano has been cast as Navi Araz, the likely first villain of season four.

Actress Shohreh Aghdashloo has also joined the cast and will most probably be playing the character of Navi Araz's wife, Dina. Aghdashloo was nominated for the best supporting actress Oscar after appearing in 2003's 'House of Sand and Fog'.

Louis Lombardi Lombardi will play a new member of CTU. The actor is best known for a role in the second and third seasons of 'The Sopranos' as an FBI agent.

The best news? Ryan's Report says that Chloe is coming back... hooray!

08.07 | The Times reviews '24' on DVD

On the extras front, more than 20 deleted scenes (almost one per episode) illustrate how tightly the stories had to be written and shot to fit into each one-hour slot. You can choose either to slip these back into the relevant episode or to view them separately - it’s a nice idea, but for the most part you can soon see why they were dropped from the final footage, as they really add only to the peripheral storyline. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Pah. The Times gives the '24' season three DVD a rubbish two stars out of five.

UK readers should remember that the DVD of series three is available to buy in the shops from this Monday, August 9th. There's some pictures of it here.
