12.17 | Bad news for anyone without digital telly...
"Sky One has snatched the rights to '24' after the BBC's talks with Hollywood studio Fox over the third series broke down earlier this month. Sky One is expected to sell on the terrestrial rights to the show and Channel Five is thought to be the most likely bidder. However, Sky One is understood to be insisting on a six-month delay on screening the show on terrestrial TV, which is likely to reduce the amount potential buyers will want to pay."
The bad news? The half of the country which only has 'regular' telly won't get to see season three for a while. The worse news? Freeview boxes DON'T include Sky One. The slightly better news? You can download it off the internet for free.
Right that's it... I'm cancelling the monthly direct debit for my TV license... this is the one show that the Beeb should spend my license fee on, and they've fucked up... I don't want to watch Eastenders, Watchdog, Crimewatch, or any of that crap... I want Jack on BBC2 10pm on a Sunday... nothing else matters.. I am NOT HAPPY.

This doesn't bode well. I've just gone and gotten myself hooked on season 3 through copious downloading, and I'm going to be leaving Canada for England as of Feb 15th. I'd always assumed that they would be getting the series, and I'd be able to finish up watching it there. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm back home in September to buy the dvd's...

Apparantly, as the BBC don't have it now, James doesn't update the site anymore.
I don't know how the two events link, but they must...
...Somehow...

I'm not doing badly for a show that hasn't been on telly in this country for nearly four months! It's not even going to be on again until February!

That's why you need to make stuff up!
"Season Three plot to involve clowns"
"Elisha Cuthbert spontaneously combusts"
"'24' rights given to Channel Five suddenly. Show will be renamed 'Twenty Whore', and sees Kim Bauer needing to shag 24 random strangers in a day."
