01.30 | I'd steer clear of it completely, if I were you

Speaking of the official fanclub, they're also hawking a rather shit looking mug that costs $15. Fifteen dollars for that? Fifteen fucking dollars?

01.29 | Fan club announced - fans would prefer new series to be broadcast instead

You could call it sad - but you're reading a fan site for a TV show, and I'm writing one! - there's an official 24 fan club that's been set up over in the states. has anyone joined the official (USA) fanclub yet? You can sign up at 24fanclub.com and they'll give you a mouse mat, key ring, a Kiefer Sutherland photo (not signed, of course).

Why couldn't somebody come up with decent merchandise? If I was in charge, I would have made stuff like the Official Terri Bauer Headstone (Complete With Mourning Jack), the Official CTU Double Agent Spy Handspring Mobile (As Used By Jamey Farrell; get out of jail free card not included) or the the Official Emergency Heroin Pick-Me-Up - only for use when getting beat up by stoners at 3AM).

In fact, that list is probably why I'm not in charge of the fan club.

01.28 | Kiefer! We love you! Especially when you chop off people's thumbs!

The (admittedly rather girlie) 4everKiefer site has a pretty cool page where you can submit your favourite moment from the first season of '24', as well as reading what everyone else thought was the high point. My high point of this web page is when you realise you're looking at some cutsie - in a good way - actor fansite, but the fans are submitting stuff like "My favourite part was when Jack wrenched out a man's stomach lining, by forcing a wet towel down a man's throat" or "I LOL`ED WHEN HIS WIFE DIED - 'GOODBYE FOERVER'!!!!!!11111". Y'know, that kind of thing.

01.20 | Anyone for tennis?

An Australian newspaper has noticed that Swede tennis player Magnus Larrson looks like Jack Bauer. Those crazy dudes down under, eh?

Right, since I've had some emails about the post on '24' below, I thought I'd do some explaining. 'Steven Spielberg's Taken' was originally scheduled for Sunday nights. Once that series had finished, in the middle of March, the plan was to start showing season 2 of '24'. The rumour goes that season 2 of '24' was moved over to a Monday showing on BBC1 before 'Taken' was confirmed in the Saturday night spot, so that Jack Bauer's antics could get underway before too many spoilers filter through from US viewers. Extrapolating from this, of course, you could figure out that a huge plotline development should occur in either episode 11 or 12, the 9:00-10:00PM or 10:00-11:00PM episodes, which will be broadcast in the States at the end of February.

Rumour has it that the BBC will be showing Jack Bauer's adventures in the second series of '24' starting on Monday 24th February 2003. The big news is that there is a possibility that the show may be broadcast on BBC1 this time, rather than second channel BBC2. If this does happen, be sure that the whole nation will be addicted by the time the clock ticks around to 07:59:59.

In some unrelated news, here's an invite to Marie and Reza's wedding.

01.02 | "When something like '24' happens, you bow your head and say thank you."

Kiefer Sutherland thanks his lucky stars he didn't end up like Christian Slater. I mean, guest starring on 'Alias'?
